1Who we are

chotainfluencer ("we", "us", "our") connects everyday local Instagram users ("creators") with nearby restaurants and businesses ("clients") for paid, disclosed promotional posts. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you apply to join our creator pool, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

2What information we collect

When you apply through our creator application form, we collect:

  • Contact details: full name, WhatsApp number, email address
  • Instagram profile information: your handle, follower count, whether your account is public, your content niche/vibe, and a link to a recent post
  • Location signals: your general area/locality and pincode, and how long you've lived there — never your exact home address
  • Audience & content signals: how local your existing audience is, and whether you already post about local spots
  • Consent confirmations: the checkboxes you tick confirming your followers are real, your willingness to visit partner restaurants in person, your agreement to disclose paid partnerships, and your consent to our storing your data

We do not ask for or store passwords, payment card details, or your exact home address at any point in this process.

3How we use your information

We use the information you submit strictly for the following purposes:

  • Matching you with campaigns: pairing your profile with nearby restaurants looking for local creators, based on your locality, niche, and follower count
  • Communicating with you: reaching out via WhatsApp or email when a relevant campaign becomes available, and for operational updates about your application
  • Marketing our services to prospective clients: we may use aggregated or anonymised statistics (for example, "our creator pool in Andheri averages 3,500 followers") to demonstrate our reach to restaurants and brands considering working with us. We do not share your individually identifiable profile with a prospective client unless you have actually been shortlisted for a specific campaign with that client.
  • Quality and fraud checks: reviewing your Instagram account and application details before approving you into active campaigns
  • Legal and safety purposes: if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or a valid legal request
We never sell your personal data to data brokers or unrelated third parties. Full stop.

4Who we share your information with

Your data is shared only in these limited circumstances:

  • Matched restaurant/brand partners: once you are shortlisted for a specific campaign, we share the relevant profile details (name, handle, follower count, area) needed for that restaurant to coordinate your visit and payout with you
  • Service providers who help us operate: for example, email delivery and spreadsheet/record-keeping tools we use internally to manage applications — these providers only process data on our instructions and don't use it for their own purposes
  • Legal authorities: only where legally required to do so (for example, in response to a valid court order)

We do not share your data with any other advertisers, marketing agencies, or third parties outside of what's described above.

5Advertising, Meta platforms & cookies

We currently run promotional campaigns for chotainfluencer on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram). Here's what that means for your data:

  • Our ads on Meta are shown based on targeting Meta itself offers to advertisers (such as interests, location, or demographics) — this uses Meta's own advertising systems and cookies, governed by Meta's Privacy Policy, not information you've given us directly.
  • If we use tools like the Meta Pixel or Conversions API on our website in the future to measure ad performance, this policy will be updated to disclose exactly what's tracked, and we will only use such tools in line with Meta's Business Tools Terms and applicable data protection law.
  • The personal information you submit through our own application form (name, WhatsApp, email, Instagram details, etc.) is not passed to Meta or used to build advertising audiences without your separate, explicit consent.
  • If you clicked through to our site from a Facebook or Instagram ad, Meta may independently record that click per its own policies — that data exchange is between you and Meta, governed by Meta's terms, not ours.
In short: applying to our creator pool does not enroll you into any advertising audience. Your application data stays within chotainfluencer and the specific client you're matched with.

6How we keep your data secure

  • Our website uses HTTPS encryption, so your submission is encrypted in transit between your device and our servers
  • Application data is accessible only to authorised chotainfluencer team members who need it to run campaigns — not to the general public or unrelated staff
  • We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss, consistent with standard practice for a small business handling this scale of data
  • No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we treat your data with the same care we'd want for our own

7How long we keep your data

We retain your application data for as long as you remain part of our active creator pool, or until you request deletion — whichever comes first. If you haven't been matched with a campaign or haven't engaged with us for an extended period, we may periodically review and remove inactive profiles from our records.

8Your rights & choices

You can, at any time:

  • Ask what data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your data from our records entirely
  • Withdraw consent for future matching, while allowing any campaign already in progress to be completed

To exercise any of these, email connect@chotainfluencer.com with your name and the Instagram handle you applied with. We aim to respond and act on verified requests within 7–10 business days.

9Children's privacy

Our creator program is intended for individuals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we've received an application from a minor, we will delete that data promptly.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our operations grow — for example, as we add new tools or ad platforms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version. Continued use of our application form after an update means you accept the revised policy.
